We're often asked what would be an ideal watch for daily wear. For something that both exhibits character and carries on doing so for a lifetime, choosing an everyday watch is very important.
In this article we will focus on 5 watches that we currently have available. While these are hardly all of the classics we have in the shop, these are some of the ones we'd greatly recommend to anyone looking for that one reliable watch to wear every day.
The Rolex Submariner
The Submariner has been around since 1953, always evolving in technical ability if not in aesthetics, its beautifully utilitarian design copied everywhere but never bettered. You can't go wrong with a classic like this.
The Omega Speedmaster
Affectionately known to its army of fans as the Speedy, it did for the chronograph what the Rolex Submariner did for the dive watch – i.e. set the benchmark to which all others aspire. As far as looks go, the black dial and bezel with the high contrast white detailing are understated enough to match with anything, and those twisted lyre lugs lend a touch of elegance to the otherwise tool-like shape.
The Rolex Datejust
The Datejust is Rolex's most diverse model, coming in more color and design variations than any other watch. Stick to neutral colors, i.e: blue, black, white, and gray, and you've got yourself a watch you can wear with just about anything. Another great aspect of the Datejust is that it comes in different millimeter sizes. Opt for a 36mm for something a bit smaller and more comfortable.
The Patek Calatrava
Sleek and minimal in design, the Patek Calatrava is easy just as much as it is classic. While we don't recommend being intentionally rough with this model, its still an excellent choice for anyone looking for a watch they can wear with just about anything.
The Panerai Luminor
For something a bit more rugged, the Panerai Luminor offers just that. Choose between rubber or leather straps depending on your lifestyle. Because of the oversized design, this watch has great visibility especially with the numerals on the dial.
